My latest project, ‘Scramble’, is a turn-based, aerial dogfighting game set in WW2. It allows the player to strategically plan their movements in the air, whilst attempting to take down enemy planes, or escape them. The game can be played both remotely and locally by 2 players.

 

I came onto this project via James Carey, as this is a game he has been working on for some time, but he needed a programmer to help get it ready for release. The game has already been awarded funding from the UK Games Fund and as a result it will be shown to the public at EGX in London this October.

 

This project is my first time working on any sort of networking (this project uses simple .NET networking as it’s all that is required) and it’s been a very enjoyable challenge. It’s also been exciting seeing the inner workings of a funded project, from publisher meetings to expo planning.
